High Points Hike
A high-elevation day hike with beautiful views!
This walk through the high country of the Smoky Mountains is perfect for an individual to experience the grandeur of the southern highlands. From the parking lot the group will walk 2.5 miles to Andrew’s Bald, a heath bald with an amazing view of the Fontana Lake area. Andrew’s Bald is also a great place for viewing wildlife and wildflowers.
The return consists of climbing to the highest point in the Smokies for a rewarding 360 degree view of the national park. This is a great trip for hot and muggy days as the breeze is always blowing and the hike never dips below 5500 feet in elevation. A camera is a must have for this hike.
Bring your own lunch to enjoy outdoors in the mountains, or order a wrap through SMG for $10.
